Baghdad (IP) - The Prime Minister of Iraq and the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Iran discussed cooperation in the field of historical monuments and tourism and the exchange of experiences in this field.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran Press, citing Iraq's Al-Sumriya channel, the media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister announced today (Monday) in a statement that Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Ezzatullah Zarghami, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Iran discussed the cooperation between the two countries in the field of ancient works and cultural heritage and exchange of experiences.

The media office of the Prime Minister added in this statement that the meeting between the Iraqi Prime Minister and Ezzatullah Zarghami, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was held on Sunday evening in the presence of Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh in Baghdad.

The statement added that in this meeting, the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of antiquities and cultural heritage and the exchange of experiences were discussed.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

The Iraqi Prime Minister's Media Office added that the meeting also discussed the importance of coordinating work in the field of religious tourism and providing mutual facilities for the citizens of the two countries.

Seyyed Ezzatullah Zarghami, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in Baghdad on Saturday evening (December 3) to attend the Forum of Ancient Civilizations and was welcomed by Dr. Farhad Nimatullah Hossein, Deputy Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Council of Iraq and Mohammed Kazem Al-Sadegh the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting of the 6th Forum of Ancient Civilizations was held with the participation of Iran, Iraq, Greece, China, Egypt, Italy, Peru, Bolivia, Armenia, and Mexico starting yesterday (Sunday) at the Babylon Hotel in Baghdad.

The 2-day conference is aimed at strengthening the communication and exchange of experience between different nations and cultures and preserving world heritage, as well as addressing historical and cultural tourism, which plays an important role in sustainable economic development and supporting the national income of member countries.
