Rome (IP) - Tens of thousands of people in Italy didn't go to work on Friday to protest against the rising cost of living.

Iran PressEurope: Tens of thousands of people in Italy did not go to work on Friday with the support of some of the country's labor unions in protest against the government's budget bill, double-digit inflation, lack of job security, low salaries, and health care shortages.

This strike paralyzed large parts of the Italian economy, especially in the urban and rail transport sectors, and caused many problems for passengers.

Simultaneously with this general strike, protests were also held in Italian cities.

Italian anti-riot police were deployed in Rome to deal with possible disturbances against government institutions in sensitive areas, especially in front of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Italian Ministry of Economy.

This situation almost prevails in other European countries, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The people of these countries are protesting against the dire economic crisis and the high energy cost of being on the streets.

The war in Ukraine and the embargo against Russia have been declared as two factors of the crisis situation in European countries, and the people of different European countries want to end the war in Ukraine and not send weapons to this country.
