Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister says during the past year the trade volume between Iran and Syria has increased.

Iran PressIran News: Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad arrived in Tehran for a three-day trip and was officially welcomed by Iran’s Foreign Minister.

Further economic cooperation has been discussed between the two sides as well. 

In a joint press conference, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the talks between Iran and Syria aimed at further encouraging the private and public sectors to neutralize. 

He talked about the meeting on the UN Charter, which will be held on Saturday, November 5, in Tehran to confront the sanctions and unilateralism. 

There, in the press conference, the Syrian Foreign Minister said for his part that his country stood by the Iranian nation and Leader against the US and Israeli sanctions and invasion and their acts against Iran and the region. 

Faisal Mekdad said that Syria supported Iran's stance in the nuclear talks of the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and expressed hope that the Western sides abandon their dishonest policies. 

With regard to the presence of terrorists on Syrian soil, he said that Western countries, in particular the US, created and nurtured ISIS. 

The former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in his election campaign in 2016, said that the US created the terrorist group in Afghanistan 20 years ago to fight against the Soviet Union.
