Tehran (IP) - The members of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and thinkers of the Islamic World paid tribute to the late Imam Khomeini (RA).

Iran PressIran news: The members of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPST) paid tribute to the great status of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and these scholars and thinkers of different Islamic countries introduced Imam Khomeini (RA) as the founder of the Conference on the proximity of Religions and called the event as the beginning of dialogue among Muslims in different parts of the world.

According to Iran Press News Agency, the 36th International Conference of Islamic Unity began on Wednesday with the speech of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, in Tehran.

The event is held every year at the same time as the Week of Unity from the 12th to the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal, with the presence of the personalities of the Islamic world.

The purpose of holding the International Conference on Islamic Unity is to create unity and solidarity among Muslims, the consensus of scholars and scientists in order to approximate their scientific and cultural views, as well as to examine and present practical solutions to achieve Islamic unity and the formation of a single nation in the Islamic world and to solve problems of Muslims and providing suitable solutions in this regard.

In the face-to-face part of this year's conference, 200 thinkers from 60 countries and 100 political and cultural personalities of Iran are participating.
