Budapest (IP) – In a meeting with a group of economic activists and managers of Hungarian companies in Budapest on Wednesday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs and chief negotiator in the Vienna talks referred to the continuation of the war in Europe and the energy crisis in this region.

Iran PressEurope: Ali Bagheri-Kani stated that the effects of the war in Europe proved that sanction is a double-edged sword, the consequences of which also affect those who put sanctions on others.

With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, European countries followed the policies of the United States to support Ukraine and imposed heavy sanctions against Russia, but these sanctions have had the opposite result so far, and now the situation is complicated for European countries that are heavily dependent on Russian energy resources.

In the meeting, the Iranian official stated that for many years it was thought that countries like Iran should pay the cost of being sanctioned, but now the Europeans realize that sanctioning also has a price and if they do not reconsider their unilateral policies, they will have to pay the cost of imposing sanctions by increasing inflation and jeopardizing energy security.

He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its actual and potential capacities with other energy suppliers to return energy security to the market.

Economic activists and managers of Hungarian companies also announced their readiness to participate more actively in the large commercial and economic market of Iran and said that there are good grounds for bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially in the areas of energy, agriculture, medicine and water management.
