Tehran(IP)- Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy said in his Presser on Tuesday that building renewable power plants is on the agenda for the next one to two years.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy Mahmoud Kamaani said in his presser on Tuesday: "In the field of renewable energies, we have more than 100,000 megawatts of known potential in solar energy, which leads us to use these capacities more than before."

He added: "15 years ago, 20% of annual capacity was allocated to renewable power plants, and now this figure has reached over 70% in the world."

Kamaani emphasized: "The production of 10,000 megawatts of renewable energy is one of the important programs of the 13th government, and in this regard, various investors have been invited, and we are evaluating the tenders."

Referring to wind power plants, he also said: "We have a plan to build 2000 watts."

Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy also pointed out that solar power plants are on the agenda for the next one to two years. The plan to build renewable power plants privately is also possible, and a license will be issued, and a contract will be concluded. So far, 4,000 megawatts have been requested, and a license has been issued for 2,000 megawatts."

 

 

The Deputy Minister of Energy said: "The construction of small-scale power plants in homes is one of the other programs and the necessary resources will be provided through low-interest loans."

Referring to optimization in the field of cooling systems, he said: "We have a serious plan to increase productivity by replacing high-efficiency engines with old ones."

 

 

Moreover, Mahmoud Kamaani said in his presser on Tuesday that the low price of fossil fuels in Iran is one of the reasons for not switching to renewable energies.

He said: "One percent of Iran's power plant capacity is from renewable energy, which is not a desirable number where as Germany is one of the leaders in this field with more than 55%."
