Konya (IP) - Another medal for Iran’s women tennis table in the Islamic countries' solidarity competition in Konya has been confirmed.

Iran PressAsia: According to Iran Press correspondent, with the superiority of our country's women's tennis table in today's match against the Republic of Azerbaijan, the bronze medal of this team was confirmed.

Iranian women will have a competition tomorrow, to improve the colour of this medal.

At the end of today's match, Neda Shahsavari, the captain of the national women's table tennis team said: "Fortunately, since yesterday, we managed to defeat all three of our rivals, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Azerbaijan, and go to the next round as the first team in our group among four teams."

She added: "Tomorrow, we will meet face Maldives and then the second team of the first group. Hopefully, if we win that match, we go for final, where probability we will face Turkiye.

Meanwhile, Masoud Kamran, who managed to ascend the finals of the competitions, set a record of 13.74 seconds in 100 m hurdling on Wednesday and stood 5th in the Konya Games.

An athlete from Algeria won the championship title in the category. 

Another Iranian athlete Mohammad-Hossein Abareghi managed to stand first in 200 meters dash, setting a record of 20.72 seconds in the qualifying games and ascending to the semi-finals.
