Iran Press/ Asia: In a move that has roiled Pakistan, members of Mr. Khan's party on Sunday blocked a vote of no-confidence in the PM and dissolved parliament.
Khan, who had said the vote was part of a US-led conspiracy to remove him, has said that Donald Lu, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, was allegedly behind the 'threat memo' seeking his ouster as PM.
Donald Lu, who has traveled to India and is currently in the country, denies the allegations made by the ousted Pakistani Prime Minister. The US State Department operates in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Bhutan under the auspices of Donald Lu.
Mr. Khan has said his criticism of US policy and other foreign policy decisions has led to an attempt by the US to remove him from power.

Furious opposition politicians have now filed a petition to the Supreme Court to rule on whether the move to block the vote was constitutional. The court is expected to decide by the end of Monday.
The ousted Prime Minister of Pakistan is temporarily in charge of running the affairs until his successor is announced.
