Sanandaj (IP) – The Secretary-General of Iran-UNESCO National Commission says the International Nowruz Caravan effectively revives and keeps alive the Nowruz ritual and attracts domestic and foreign tourists.

Iran PressIran news: International Nowruz 1401 Festival was held by the Iran-UNESCO National Commission in the three cities of Hamedan, Kermanshah, and Sanandaj with the participation of representatives of some foreign countries.

The event aims to introduce Iran's attractive sightseeing to the world.

In an interview with Iran Press, Hojjatollah Ayoubi elaborated on the journey of the International Nowruz 1401 Festival in Hamedan, Kermanshah, and Sanandaj and said: "Nowruz caravan kicked off its glorious journey from Tehran with different entertaining programs."

"Nowruz, its beauties and the traditions that Iranians have during the New Year have attracted international attention and is the best opportunity to introduce a new way to present Iranian culture to the world and even to Iranians themselves," he noted.

"Kermanshah, Sanandaj, and Hamedan are considered world cities, so UNESCO has introduced Sanandaj as a city creative in music and Kermanshah as a city creative in food to be registered globally, and the necessary measures for Hamedan as a candidate are underway to register globally by UNESCO," Ayoubi said.

Nowruz is the Iranians' ancient spring holiday that dates back to more than 3,000 years ago.
