Geneva (IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran was appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Telecommunication Standardization Study Council Working Group No. 11 at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Iran PressEurope: The International Telecommunication Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for all matters related to information and communication technologies. It was established on 17 May 1865 as the International Telegraph Union, making it the oldest UN agency.

The Study Council Working Group No. 11 examines signaling requirements, protocols, equipment testing specifications, and fake products.

Arezoo Oroujlu is the representative of Iran in ITU's Working Group No. 11.

The Sixth World Telecommunication Standards Association (WTSA) was held in Geneva, Switzerland, with the participation of representatives from 146 member countries of the ITU.
