Tehran (IP) - The closing ceremony of the 40th edition International Fajr Film Festival was held in the Iranian capital of Tehran and the special award of the event was awarded to the film "Without a Prior Appointment" directed by Behrouz Shoaybi.

Iran PressIran News: The special award of the 40th edition International Fajr Film Festival was named after Martyr Qassem Soleimani's "The Soldier of the Homeland", or the Golden Simorgh was awarded to the film "Without a Prior Appointment" directed by Behrouz Shoaybi.

Amin Hayaee and Tannaz Tabatabee were awarded the best actor and actress respectively for Last Snow and Dreamless.

Still, the jury qualified Nader Soleimani for the best supporting actor and Fereshteh Hosseini to win the Special Prize for the best-supporting actress. 

The Golden Simorgh was also given the best sound recording of Masih Hadpour for the film Situation of Mehdi.


The Golden Simorgh was awarded the best editing to Hamid Najafirad for the film "Grassland".



The Golden Simorgh was awarded for the best supporting role to Sadaf Espahpadi in the movie Grassland.


The closing ceremony of the 40th edition of Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival is underway at Tehran Milad Tower venue on Friday, February 11, which marks the 43rd glorious victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

At the beginning of the ceremony tonight, a video of the demised Iranian actors who passed away a year ago was displayed, in addition to a film about the presence of the Iranian people in the days prior to the Islamic Revolution.


The closing ceremony is attended by Iranian actors, actors, and film directors.

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili and the daughter of the top Iranian general Martyr Qassem Soleimani, Zeinab Soeimni also addressed the event.

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance said cultural justice, which is the slogan of President Ebrahim Raisi administration, came to fruition during the 40th Fajr Film Festival with the screening of works in 31 provinces.

At the closing ceremony of the 40th Fajr Film Festival, Mehdi Esmaili stated: "Our cinema has had many successes so far, but what we see today does not meet our expectations and we seek to elevate it as much as possible."
