Tehran (IP)- The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that the country can produce fuel with different degrees of enrichment and has been able to designate 12 regions in the country for radiation.

Iran PressIran News: The Islamic Republic of Iran, 23 February 2021, to implement the law "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation," approved by the Iranian Parliament, suspended oversight and voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol.

"We have started a movement to endogenize our industry in the Atomic Energy Organization and we will easily produce fuel with different degrees of enrichment," Mohammad Eslami, Vice-President and the Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) added.

Referring to the latest achievements of the country's nuclear industry, Mohammad Eslami added in a TV program on Tuesday night: "The first step we took was to conduct studies and plan to promote the effectiveness of the technology through radiation for all fields, especially in agriculture, food, and industry."

Regarding the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran's cooperation, the Vice President said: "After the victory of the revolution, due to obstacles and selective behavior of the IAEA, Iran, unfortunately, could not benefit from the assistance of the organization."

Emphasizing that the Tehran reactor is a research reactor and has been completely peaceful, he added: "This reactor has never been supported and we produce these radiopharmaceuticals in the Tehran and Karaj reactors."

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization noted: "One of the activities we have in the program is the production of electron accelerators, which is an important part of our production in radiopharmaceuticals."

"Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) has generated about 50 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity into the grid in the seven years it has been operating, which has saved about 80 million barrels of oil," Eslami noted.

He said about the Arak heavy water reactor: "The reactor will be completed by the end of next year Iranian year. This reactor must be redesigned to address the concerns raised in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."
