Iran Press/ America: The year-long war between Ethiopia's government and the leadership of the northern Tigray region, among Africa's bloodiest conflicts, has killed thousands of civilians and displaced millions, Reuters reported.
"Feltman will be in Addis on Jan. 6 for meetings with senior government officials to discuss peace talks," the official said on Feltman's visit to Addis Ababa.
Tigray erupted in conflict in November 2020 after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed sent troops to topple the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF).
But by late June the rebels had regrouped and retaken most of Tigray, including Mekele, and fighting spread to the neighboring regions of Amhara and Afar.
