Lebanon (IP) – Lebanon's Hezbollah Secretary-General said that ignoring the presence of the American forces in Iraq was the re-assassination of General Soleimani.

Iran PressMiddle East: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a speech on Monday, January 3, commemorating the second martyrdom anniversary of the IRGC's Qods Force Commander Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, and PMF Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

"The United States occupied and tyrannized Iraq and committed massacres there before the assassination of Soleimani."

The top Hezbollah leader attributed ISIS to Washington, "The United States created ISIS to return its armies to Iraq, and it is to bear the responsibility for all the crimes committed by ISIS."

"The United States is a historically unmatched hypocritical assassin," he declared, highlighting the contrast with martyr Soleimani, who he said, "Stood by the Iraqi people and contributed to the establishment of the resistance and provided it with arms, strength, and momentum. The Islamic Republic of Iran was the first country that stood by the Iraqi nation to confront the US-made ISIS and maintain peace and security in Iraq."

He noted that it was catastrophic to compare the martyrs who supported Iraq with the Americans who committed crimes and killings in the country.

Saudi Arabia sent suicide bombers to Iraq

"ISIS ideology came from Saudi Arabia as Bin Salman said the US asked Riyadh to disseminate Wahhabism throughout the world, therefore Saudi Arabia dispatched its suicide attackers and vehicles to Iraq," he added.

The US is responsible for all Israeli crimes in Palestine and the region

Elsewhere in his speech, Nasrallah called the US responsible for the Israeli regime's crimes in the region and said the US supported the regime by money and arms and encouraged other countries to maintain relations with it.

He pointed to the US role in the war on Syria: All those who took part in the war against Syria were the US agents, and the one who killed the Syrians and brought their country into a civil war was the US government."

As about the war on Yemen also Nasrallah pointed out that it was the US first of all that was responsible for the war and that Saudi Arabia was just the executor of the aggression.

"During the blockade on Qatar, the Americans made fun of the Persian Gulf states in order to get more money from them," he recalled. Hezbollah leader also said the US was responsible for all Israeli actions in Lebanon, including wars, airstrikes, and killings, noting that the US could never be a friend.

Everywhere the US was present, General Soleimani also was present to change the equations, he noted.

Nasrallah stressed that ignoring the presence of the American forces in Iraq is in fact the re-assassination of General Soleimani and the Abu Mahdi, Nasrallah said and reiterated that as long as the US was present in the region oppression and dictatorship was ongoing.

The Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah promised that the perpetrators of the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and his companions would be punished, adding that the US' assassination of Resistance commanders was the beginning of a new phase of awakening and battle.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

They were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
