On the second day of the new year, the Israeli warplanes, helicopters, and tanks launched raids on targets in Palestine's besieged Gaza Strips early on Sunday.

Iran PressMiddle East: Sunday, at approximately 12:10 a.m. local time, the Israeli army began airstrikes on targets in Gaza.

The Israeli army confirmed that fighter jets had specifically targeted "Hamas compounds in Gaza."

Earlier reports had indicated that an airstrike was conducted via a helicopter on Hamas' Qaddissiyah site in southern Gaza followed by three missiles strikes from an Israeli Air Force jet.

At least ten missiles are said to have been launched towards Hamas targets by the Israeli warplanes.

Following the strikes in southern Gaza, reports also emerged of strikes in northern Gaza at Hama's Fillistine Camp. Early reports suggested the strikes were from helicopters and tanks, and that the Israeli Navy shelled parts of the Gaza shoreline.

Several powerful explosions shook parts of northern Gaza and terrified the people.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has not announced any casualties regarding the bombings.

Israel claimed on Saturday that rockets fired from blockaded Gaza fell off the Mediterranean coast of the Gush Dan area which includes Tel Aviv in central Israel.

The occupying regime in Al-Quds has been besieging Gaza for years and has even prevented humanitarian aid from reaching the area.

International organizations also cover up the crimes of the Israeli regime by ignoring its hostile actions.
