Iranian Foreign Minister and the parliament speaker of Azerbaijan Republic discussed issues of mutual interest in Baku on Wednesday.

Iran PressAsia: Amirabdollahian and Sahiba Gafarova also attended a joint press conference and elaborated on the official results of Amirabdollahian's visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

Earlier on Wednesday, the Iranian foreign minister and Azeri President Ilham Aliev discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and regional developments.

During the meeting, the Azeri president noted that exchanges of diplomatic delegations between the two countries are of special significance, IRNA reported.  

President Aliev referred to a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi on the sidelines of an ECO Summit in Ashgabat where he said they underlined the need for taking further steps to boost bilateral relations in all areas.  

Noting that a wide range of issues is on the agenda of Iran-Azerbaijan relations, the Azeri president said he was sure that bilateral relations between the two countries will yield fruit.

The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of President Raisi to his Azeri counterpart.

Amirabdollahian said that the talks between the two presidents in Ashgabat were a turning point in relations between the two neighboring countries.
