The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran tweeted on Friday night condemned the British act of naming the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) a terrorist organization.

Iran PressIran news:  Iran's top diplomat Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated that the rights of the Palestinians cannot be trampled on by distorting the facts, emphasizing: "The only political solution for Palestine is to hold a referendum with the participation of the indigenous Palestinian population including, Muslims Jews and  Christians."

News sources quoted British Home Secretary Pretty Patel as saying on Friday that Hamas activities in the country would be banned under the Counter-Terrorism Act and that anyone supporting Hamas, raising its flag, or arranging meetings for this organization has violated British law.

In response to this decision, the Hamas movement issued a statement called for the condemnation of this British decision, calling it a continuation of the aggression against the Palestinian people and their legal rights.

Hamas responded in a statement, saying: “Instead of apologizing and correcting its historical sin against the Palestinian people, Britain supports the aggressors at the expense of the victims.” 219
