Leader agrees to pardon several convicts

Tehran (IP): On the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the birth anniversary of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (AS), the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, agreed with granting amnesty to 3,458 Iranian prisoners.

Iran Press/ Iran News: The pardon was made at the request of the country's Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje'i.

Iran's Constitution grants the Supreme Leader the right to pardon or commute the sentences of convicts upon a recommendation from the Judiciary chief.
