Tehran (IP) - Iran's President called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take the necessary measures and follow-ups to accelerate and increase the import of vaccines into the country.

Iran PressIran news: Ebrahim Raisi expressed his condolences on the occasion of the days of mourning for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his martyred companions, noting: "I hope that in addition to the spiritual benefit of these days, we will follow the Imam in practice, as Imam Hussein (AS) himself said, the basis is to follow us. Practical obedience to the Imams is necessary for the people and for the officials."

He further called the control and management of coronavirus the most important issue and problem in the country today.

He added: "Controlling the coronavirus pandemic, which has intensified these days, like all other acute problems, requires all officials to come to the scene and all the country's capacities and facilities in the disposal of the administration or other institutions are used in this field effectively.

The President stressed that it would be difficult to get out of the current unfavorable situation if all the country's capacities were not used to curb the corona outbreak, stating: "Another very important point is to persuade public opinion to participate in helping the administration in this regard. Everyone needs to explain to the public that controlling the recent wave of coronavirus outbreak requires public participation."

"We respect all the steps that have been taken so far to contain COVID-19, but we must work actively and in more effective ways to overcome the problem," Raisi said.
