French contaminated blood still killing Iranians

Tehran (IP) - The contaminated French blood continues to kill, and it has infected more than 3,000 people in Iran with hepatitis and AIDS, says a lawyer.

Iran PressIran news: Ali Saberi, the lawyer and the author of the book 'In the Color of Blood', explained the process of trial and investigation of the tainted blood scandal case from the 1980s, which killed hundreds of Iranians.

An official report also charged the French health authorities knowingly authorized transfusions of blood contaminated with the AIDS virus in 1985 to 10 countries, including Iran.

Four years after the French found out about the blood contamination, they banned its domestic usage but never stopped exporting it to other countries.
