Iran PressIran news: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei received the members of the 11th Majlis this morning (Thursday, May 26) via videoconferencing.

While strongly supporting the legal procedure of the Guardian Council, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, considered the presence of strong and capable managers in solving the main problems of the people as a factor in increasing public turnout in the elections.

His Eminence also thanked the candidates who were not qualified and respected the Guardian Council's decision.

"I offer to our dear people, dear nation of Iran! elections take place in one day, but the effect lasts for several years," Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

The Leader also called on the Iranian nation to participate in the elections, consider the elections as their own, and asked Allah the All-Mighty for help and guidance on recognizing what is right, and to vote for the eligible person and urged the people to go to the polls and cast vote.

The Leader also stressed: "Do not listen to the words of those who promote that it is useless, do not go to the ballot box. These are not sympathetic to the people. A compassionate person does not prevent people from going to the polls."

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that the disqualification of some people does not mean their incompetence, but it means that the Guardian Council according to its reports, facilities and acquaintances could not determine the qualification of that person, although that person may be highly qualified.

Ayatollah Khamenei also said: "It is important for the candidates to convince the people that they know the problems of the society, are managerial, resourceful and honest, and have the ability to run the country. In this case, thanks to God, the people will be present at the ballot box with high participation."

He called political and cultural issues important, but added: "Now the immediate and main issue of the country is the economy, and candidates must present their plans and solutions to solve economic problems to the people and convince them that they have the ability to solve economic problems."

He emphasized: "In spite of all these hostilities and propaganda, it is the duty of all of us to follow whatever is considered as the religious duty and the pleasure of God and to do our duty."
