Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman said various sources confirm that the Zionist regime of Israel was behind the sabotage in the Natanz nuclear site.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his weekly presser on Monday, Saeed Khatibzadeh said: "Various sources confirm that the Zionist regime was behind it. I am glad there was no human or environmental damage, but it could have been a human catastrophe, so it was a crime against humanity and also a 'terrorist act.'"

Noting this did not reduce Iran's nuclear capability, Khatibzadeh added: "All the centrifuges that damaged were IR1, which will be replaced by advanced machines."

Iran's centrifuges to become more advanced

The senior diplomat also spoke about the impact of the Natanz incident on Iran's nuclear power, adding: "It is too early to judge the extent of the damage in Natanz. Teams are reviewing the incident. Whatever was in Natanz was first-generation centrifuges, and more advanced machines are being replaced. What happened in Natanz does not hold back Iran's nuclear industry, nor is it effective in the path of lifting sanctions."

Iran-Iraq relations multi-layered, popular and strategic

On Iran's policy towards the Iraqi Kurdistan region and its economic presence in the region, Khatibzadeh said: "Iran-Iraq relations are multi-layered, popular and strategic, and therefore have good consultations on all issues. Provincial relations are pursued both with the region and others. There are many similarities between the Kurdistan Region and many provinces, these relations are well pursued. We have close cooperation on commute and transit daily."
