Iran Press/ Iran news: Regarding the possibility of reviving the contract for the purchase of aircraft from the Boeing Company, Alireza Barkhor said on Sunday: "At the end of last year, we sent a letter to the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, mentioning the fulfillment of the commitments and the human rights debate that the United States has always claimed."
"In the letter, Iran Air noted that Boeing must act in such a way that the Iranian people enjoy the benefits of the aircraft and suitable and safe parts, which had been Iran's inalienable right under the contract," he added.
Announcing the possibility of legal pursuit of contracts for the purchase of aircraft from Boeing on Saturday, which was suspended with the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami said that Boeing should be held accountable for its contract with Iran Air.
Following the signing and implementation of the JCPOA, Iran Air ordered 80 'Boeing 737 Max' and 'Boeing 777' aircraft from Boeing Aircraft Company and succeeded in obtaining permission from the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to purchase the aircraft.
'Iran Aseman Airlines' and 'Qeshm Air' also signed contracts with Boeing to buy 30 and 10 aircraft, respectively; however, with the withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear deal during Donald Trump's administration and the revocation of OFAC permissions, these contracts were suspended, and Boeing practically did not deliver any aircraft to Iranian companies.
