Iran Press/ Iran News: Explaining the importance of signing the Iran-China Strategic Cooperation Document, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Sunday described it as a long-term outlook and strategic relations between the two countries, saying: "The document was signed within the framework of maximizing national interests and taking all regions of the world and the main players into account, especially the economic poles in the world, which we pursue and implement within the framework of a balanced foreign policy."
Iran's top diplomat elaborated further: "Accordingly, our view is not only on the West or a particular country but also on the various economic, political, cultural, historical and civilizational poles that can serve the national interest," he said.
Amir-Abdollahian added: "Today we are talking about China, which is growing significantly in the economic field, while the United States is facing a trade deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars, but China is one of the major economic powers in 2020 that has grown economically."
He called China as one of the main and influential players in the world, saying: "The Chinese have the same understanding of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and when they enter into strategic cooperation with Iran, they work with a country with a population of more than 80 million while having geopolitical, geo-economics and geostrategic significance in the region."
Amir-Abdollahian added: "These show that the two countries, which are two important players in the Asian region, and there is no history of war, pessimism, and colonialism between them, have entered such an arena and signed this document through using new developments in the field of economics, science, and technology with a basic approach based on national interest."
