Iran's economy grew during the first 9 months of last fiscal year, despite the weight of sanctions, president said on Tuesday.

Iran PressIran News: Referring to the economic problems and US sanctions against the Iranian nation in the last Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2020), the President said: "The unprecedented crime and economic terrorism against the Iranian nation that the world witnessed is still going on."

"Everyone knows that we were in a unique three-year economic war against the country, and all well-known and important experts admit that if such an economic war is waged against any other country, its economy collapsed," Hassan Rouhani told a meeting of the Market Regulation Headquarters on Tuesday.

The high ranking official stated: "We have endured all these problems during these three years. The Americans even intervened in the basic goods and needs of the food people, and the office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on us on several occasions. This is a great disgrace to America throughout history, the unparalleled crime and economic terrorism that the world has witnessed and still continues."

"We had both sanctions and lower oil prices," he said, underling, "We experienced unprecedented conditions in the history after the revolution and even decades before the revolution, and therefore in March 2019 and April and May 2020 our exports and imports got into trouble. On the other hand, in 2020-2021, some countries did not even pay for the food that was sold because of the corona, and it became more expensive after they wanted to sell it again."

The president added: "Some items such as meal, corn, barley became more expensive and even sunflower oil became 135% more expensive during the past year. Some items, especially in the field of food in the world, have risen in price, which can affect the price of goods and the world." 101
