Iran Press/ Iran News: This ceremony was held in the presence of ambassadors in Tehran and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ali Asghar Mounesan and Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Mansour Gholami.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh welcomed guests, saying that 100 years ago the celebration was held in this place which used to be called “Mashgh Square.”
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman added: "Selecting Nowruz to celebrate rooted in one thousand years ago and is inherited from our ancestors."
He expressed hope that in the new year, the coronavirus pandemic ends.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, everyone gathered in an open area on Monday.
