Pres. Rouhani:

Tehran (IP) – Iran's president said that the economic situation was unsatisfactory due to oppressive sanctions, especially in areas directly related to people's lives and livelihoods.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a meeting of the Supreme Economic Coordination Council of the three branches of the government on Monday evening, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said that the economic situation was unsatisfactory due to oppressive sanctions, especially in areas directly related to people's lives and livelihoods. "The efforts made at three branches as well as the bodies of the country should be aimed at reducing the economic pressure on people's lives."

Noting that most of these problems are some of the effects of the pervasive and breathtaking economic war imposed on the country in the past three years, Rouhani added: "Now, after the people's laudable resilience and resistance in neutralizing sanctions and economic war, it is time to remove sanctions and their effects, the main one of which price instability."

Rouhani added: "The enemies had planned the sanctions with the idea that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not resist the maximum pressure for long, but the Iranian nation created another example of honor with maximum resistance against the full-scale economic war before the world."

Stressing that the re-creation, prosperity of the economy, and the elimination of the effects of sanctions require national unity and cohesion, the President stated: "It is natural that differences in views exist in the country, but now it is not the time to address these differences."

He highlighted: "The feeling of political instability has a negative impact on the country's economy and causes serious damage to society. Sometimes personal statements and positions create only political nature, psychological insecurity, and uncertainty about the future of society and have negative economic consequences that cause concern to businessmen, especially to those involved in the capital market."

Referring to the opportunities that can be used to overcome the effects of sanctions and economic war, the Iranian president said: "Considering the strength of the country's infrastructure and capacity, we can overcome these problems and solve other problems by people's continuing to participate in events and cooperate."

Referring to the capacity and material and spiritual assets of Iranians abroad, Rouhani stressed the need to lay the groundwork for their return and benefit from their investments for the construction and economic development of the country and said: "Each of the Iranians abroad is interested in providing help. There are favorable conditions for activities in various fields, including the economy, and in this regard, with the agreement between all agencies, it is possible to provide security and confidence to use this great capacity."

Referring to the prosperity of knowledge-based companies, Rouhani stressed the possibility of using the capacity of talented Iranians abroad in this regard, saying: "The development and prosperity of knowledge-based companies is the best example for the participation of Iranians living abroad in the development of the country based on the national consensus that has been able to change the lives and livelihoods of the people in some areas."
