Tehran (IP) – The spokesman for the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus announced the entry of one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of the Iranian year (March 20).

Iran Press/Iran News: On Saturday night in a special news talk show, Alireza Raisi stated that by the end of the Iranian year, Iran would increase the total number of vaccines imported from Russia, China, and India to one million doses by receiving another 400,000 doses of vaccine from Bharat of India.

He noted that the first batch (1,100,000 doses) of the COVAX vaccine of the World Health Organization (WHO) would enter Iran, and the total number of these vaccines would increase to 2 million doses to continue vaccination in the country.

He pointed out that by the arrival of the second batch of the COVAX vaccine, the number of imported vaccines would increase to 4.2 million doses, which would boost vaccination in Iran.

"The Pasteur Institute vaccine will be available soon, and in addition to the Barekat vaccine, the number of available vaccines will increase to 10 to 12 million doses at the beginning of next summer, including imported and home-made vaccines," Raisi said.

He added that to further control the COVID outbreak in the country, flights from 32 countries to Iran were currently banned.
