Iran Press/Europe: The Irish Times reported Saturday morning that Simon Coveney's trip would take place a few days after the Irish government announced the reopening of its embassy in Tehran, and that he would meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss Middle East issues.
But officials say the main focus of the trip will be JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), the newspaper added.
"Ireland is a strong supporter of JCPOA," Coveney said in a statement Friday night. "Ireland, as a facilitator, is keen to have a close dialogue with all actors and encourages all parties to fully adhere to this agreement."
He added: "The trip will be an opportunity to discuss JCPOA and other key Middle East issues, many of which are on the Security Council's agenda."
