Iran halts implementation of Additional Protocol, producing %20 uranium: IAEO head

Tehran (IP) - The Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) said to implement the Parliament's 'Strategic Law of Lifting Sanctions', 120 kg of %20 uranium was scheduled to be produced of which 25 kg had so far been produced.

Iran PressIran News: Aliakbar Salehi pointed to the installation of new generation centrifuges of IR2M and IR6 in Fordow and Natanz facilities and stressed that the centrifuges' cascades would be completed and injected with gas.

Salehi made the remarks in Sunday's meeting of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy on addressing the implementation of the 'Strategic Law of Lifting Sanctions', with the spokesman of IAEO Behrouz Kamalvandi.

He further said that Iran would store monitoring information of its nuclear facilities for up to 3 months, without giving access to IAEA inspectors and in case Iran's demands were met during the period, the IAEA would be presented with the information in order to continue the Agency's monitoring in the future.

Salehi emphasized: "If our country's demands are not met, Iran will delete the information after 3 months."

IAEO spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi for his part referred to the IAEA's inspections of Iran's facilities and said 70 percent of the inspections were based on the IAEA's safeguards agreements, and with the implementation of the Additional Protocol halted, the inspections would be reduced by 30 percent.
