Ghalibaf emphasizes strong Iran, Russia relations

Moscow (IP) - Iran's parliament speaker said that Iran-Russia relations should reach a partnership level, strong and continuous, adding that the two countries had a lot in common in bilateral, regional, and international issues.

Iran PressEurope: In his first itinerary in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf stated that Iran and Russia had common ground and close views on various international issues, which had paved the way for the further development of bilateral relations.

He noted the importance of Iran-Russia relations and the continuation of expanding cooperation in various fields and continued that by using common ground, the weaknesses of the two countries could be overcome.

Ghalibaf noted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution's emphasis on developing and deepening Iran-Russia relations and expanding the structure of bilateral cooperation and explained that one of the most important goals of his trip to Russia was to give confidence to the Russians that the relations between Tehran and Moscow would not change under the influence of global developments.

"Today, we are in an economic war, and it is the duty of every Iranian official to try to solve people's problems," he said.

During his first foreign trip as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf headed a parliamentary delegation at the official invitation of Russia's Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, arriving in Moscow on Sunday evening.
