IME weekly report; growth in volume and value of trades

Tehran (IP) - Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) traded 718,572 tones of commodities with a total trading value of more than 424 million USD on the first week of February 2021, witnessing a lift in its volume and value of trades by 4 and 42 percentage points respectively.

Iran PressIran News: According to a report by the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) international affairs and PR, the IME traded 400,688 tonnes of commodities on its mineral and industrial trading floor valued at almost 260 million USD.

On this floor, the IME sold 336,798 tonnes of steel products, 7,200 tonnes of copper, 6,555 tonnes of aluminum, 120 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 15 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 50,000 tonnes of fine iron ore, and 41 kg of gold bars.

Furthermore, the exchange played host to trading of 313,691 tonnes of commodities on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor with a trading value of nearly 165 million USD, which included 55,050 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 99,770 tonnes of bitumen, 84,843 tonnes of polymeric products, 35,006 tonnes of chemicals, 34,500 tonnes of lube cut, 3,162 tonnes of base oil, 50 tonnes of argon and 325 tonnes of sulfur.

It's worth noting that the IME's side market was also a platform for trading 4,193 tonnes of various types of non-exchange-listed commodities.
