Over 6k new COVID-19 cases registered in Iran

Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that in the past 24 hours, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 6,100 cases, out of whom 508 patients were hospitalized.

Iran PressIran News: "According to the statistics from yesterday to January 16, 2021, 1,324,395 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,113,224 of the total infected people recovered," Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 96 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 56,717.

4,393 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in Iran.

So far, 8,475,495 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

According to the latest analysis, 10 cities are in red, 23 in orange, 163 in yellow, and 252 in blue zones.
