Tehran (IP) - National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus spokesman said the general points of the National Vaccination Document had been discussed and approved today, and vaccination would be done in four phases based on priority.

Iran Press/Iran News: Alireza Raisi stated that the first phase consists of 1.3 million people, including the medical staff or those who directly take care of the COVID-19 patients, elderly people with intensive pre-existing conditions, war veterans who are chemically infected or have respiratory challenges, and veterans having over 50 percent disability.

Iran's deputy minister of health noted that the second phase includes high-risk groups, such as the elderly over 65 and people between the ages of 16 and 65, who have severe pre-existing conditions, such as cancer and dialysis.

He added that the third phase includes those who are active in crowded places, and the 4th phase includes the public.

On the sidelines of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus meeting, Raisi said the vaccination would be carried out using either domestic or purchased vaccines.

Fortunately, Tehran and Alborz provinces' statues are Yellow after weeks of people and officials' cooperation, so with cooperation and togetherness, the disease can be controlled and contained, Raisi underlined.

With full hygienic protocols observance, fortunately, Iran's hospitalization rate has decreased by 80%, and about 70% of COVID deaths declined. Except for the northern provinces of the country, mainly Mazandaran having the highest infection rate, the rest of the provinces are in good condition, Raisi pointed out.

Seven cities are regarded as red zones, 30 cities as orange zones and 411 cities as yellow zones, he mentioned.

Amol, Sari, Fereydunkenar, Qaemshahr, and Neka in Mazandaran Province, and Bandar Gaz and Kordkuy from Golestan Province are regarded as red zones, he said, adding these cities need more care.

Fortunately, by the infection, hospitalization, and death toll declining in some cities, 192 cities are regarded as blue zones, a new color based on danger statues. Also, there is no ban to commute except from 9 pm to 4 am, he announced.

Cultural and educational activities are resumed in blue zones, and some yellow areas are under consideration, stated the official.
