Iran, Yemen emphasize expansion of bilateral cooperation

Sana'a (IP) - Iran's ambassador to Yemen and a member of the country's Supreme Political Council stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Sana'a.

Iran PressMiddle East: Hassan Irloo, told Sultan al-Samaei, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, on Thursday that Iran supports the Yemeni people by transferring its capabilities in all areas and that relations between Tehran and Sanaa will expand in various fields.

General Sultan Al-Samaei, the member of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, called the presence of the Iranian ambassador a sign of Islamic solidarity in breaking the sanctions imposed by the Saudi aggressor coalition on Yemen over the past six years.

Al-Samaei added: "Yemen's resistance against the savage enemy during this period embodies the axis of resistance that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Yemen have chosen as a single path against the hegemonic powers in the region, led by the Israel regime and its allies."

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has launched a military invasion of Yemen since March 2015 and land, sea, and air siege.

The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed more than 17,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions of Yemenis.
