Iranian President Masood Pezeshkian, in a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday afternoon, said: “From first day in my presidency, we seek to develop our ties with all countries in the world based on mutual trust and respect, but it was the Zionist regime that assassinated our official guest Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran."

President Pezeshkian in reaction to Macron’s statements about necessity of building trust, said: "From the first day of my term as the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I have been and continue to seek to strengthen cooperation with all countries in the world based on mutual trust and respect, but it was the Zionist regime that sabotaged and disrupted this process from day one by assassinating martyr Ismail Haniyeh who was invited to Tehran to take part in the presidential inauguration ceremony.”

Iranian President said: "We keep on our foreign policy until today, now we are witness that the Zionist regime is committing crimes that are clear violation of all international law and regulation by militarily aggressions against people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Zionist regime's is trying to insecure entire region. We demand that world’s governments and international institutions based on global principles and norms, condemn this aggression and take effective measures to prevent Israeli regime from committing these measures."

“Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on religious decree of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has repeatedly stated that it has never sought to produce nuclear weapons and does not do so”, Iranian President said.

He added: Iran has always stated that it is ready to provide guarantees and confidence-building measures regarding its peaceful nuclear activities within the framework of international law, but at the same time it has emphasized and continues to emphasize that, in accordance with international law, it will never renounce its stated rights to possess peaceful nuclear capabilities.

The President said: "We are ready to talk and cooperate to build trust in the field of peaceful nuclear activities, but on the one hand, we will not accept reducing nuclear activities to zero under any circumstances, and on the other hand, our response to the continued aggression of the Zionist regime will be more crushing and decisive."

Pezeshkian noted: "In addition to the Zionist regime's past experiences of war-mongering and criminal acts, the recent aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran is clear evidence that plans to strengthen defense capabilities are not negotiable in any way. Peace and security are achieved based on mutual trust and respect, and one of the current necessities for establishing, maintaining, and strengthening stability and security in the region and the world is to put the Zionist regime in its place."

The President emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to negotiate and talk to resolve issues, but any type of dialogue and preconditions will only be acceptable within the framework of international law and rules, and stated: "We are ready to build trust, and in this regard, we welcome any dialogue and negotiation within the framework of the explicit and clear rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran within international frameworks."

The French President also said in this telephone conversation, noting that in a previous conversation with Your Excellency, I also emphasized that we did not participate in the Israeli military attack on Iran and did not support it, and said: "In France's view, any attack on civilian and non-nuclear centers is condemned."

Referring to yesterday's talks between the foreign ministers of three European countries and the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Emmanuel Macron stated: "All of France's efforts are aimed at stopping military conflicts and calming tensions. France respects the integrity and sovereignty of all countries and believes that influencing the sovereignty of countries through pressure and threats is not an appropriate solution."
