University of Michigan in the United States employed covert special patrols to surveil student groups supporting the termination of the Israeli war on Gaza, The Guardian has reported.

Why it matters:

The U.S. hypes it as the harbinger of human rights advocacy and a protector of freedom of expression. The U.S. allies in the West Asian region are monarchs.

The big picture:

The Israeli new genocidal war on Gaza began in October 2023, has led to such a horrific catastrophe that the extent of which reached the U.S.  Student movements began from the American universities against the U.S. government's support for the Israeli regime.

What they're saying:

Students report repeatedly spotting undercover operatives and directly confronting them. In a particularly strange incident caught on video, a man who had been shadowing a student pretended to have disabilities and loudly—yet falsely—accused the student of attempted robbery.

State of play:

The anti-Israeli movement among American students has spilled over the country such that the U.S. has resorted to spying the university students. The surveillance is an attempt to stand against the civil protests against the U.S. support for Israel, which is being spent from the American public purse.
