Tehran (IP) - A car bomb blast in the Syrian city of Afrin has killed five people and injured dozens.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Al-Jazeera, a car bomb has exploded in the center of the city of Afrin in northwestern Aleppo province, killing at least five people.

The blast took place in the city's main square, injuring dozens of people, most of them civilians.

The Afrin region, located in the northwest of the Syrian province of Aleppo, is occupied by Turkish forces and armed and terrorist militias.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.

This is the second explosion in the northern province of Aleppo in the past 24 hours. A car bomb was detonated before noon today, in the city of Al-Bab, in the eastern province of Aleppo, which is controlled by pro-Turkish forces.
