US President Donald Trump, who has so far refused to concede defeat in the November 3 presidential election, has finally agreed to hand over power to President-elect Joe Biden.

Iran PressAmerica: Trump tweeted early Tuesday that he had asked Emily Murphy, director of the US General Services Administration (GSA), to take action on "initial protocols" to transfer power to Biden.

Murphy also wrote in a letter that Biden would have access to federal resources and services to facilitate the transfer of power.

Trump's approval came after Michigan election officials confirmed Democratic nominee Joe Biden's victory in the state with 154,000 votes, as Biden announced his national security team hours earlier.

According to media reports, Biden has won 306 electoral votes so far, and Trump has 232 votes as president in the White House. 219
