Chile (IP)- The Iranian documentary ‘Asak’ won the Best Feature Film Award at the 15th Chilean Arica Nativa Rural Film Festival in South America.

Iran Press/America: Asak by Mahdi Zamanpour Kiasari also won a $1,000 cash prize in this category.

The documentary narrates the life story of an 80-year-old man from southern Iran who is gifted with interpreting dreams.

The old blind man from Iran has a talented gift for making traditional pots, which he gives to neighbors in his small village. Guided by touch and by taste, he chooses rocks from the heart of the mountains, crafting the vessels with a hand saw and other simple tools.

Asak means a small hand-mill in the local language of southern Iran.

It was earlier crowned best at the 20th International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival in the northern Turkish town of Safranbolu.

The 15th edition of the Arica Nativa Rural Film Festival was held from November 6 to 15, 2020, focusing on films with local themes.
