La Paz (IP) - The foreign ministers of Iran and Nicaragua exchanged views on expanding relations between the two countries.

Iran PressAmerica: While in Bolivia, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a telephone conversation with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, stressed the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed hope he would visit Tehran soon.

The Nicaraguan foreign minister invited the Iranian officials to visit his country, saying it would boost cooperation and bilateral relations.

Zarif arrived in La Paz on Sunday morning to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Bolivian presidency.

Arriving in La Paz, Zarif met with Luis Arce, President-elect of Bolivia, and his Vice President, David Choquehuanca.

The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran traveled to Cuba and Venezuela before visiting Bolivia.
