No danger threatens northwestern borders of Iran: Army Commander

East Azerbaijan (IP)- Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, during his visit to the border areas of Jolfa and Khodaafarin, emphasized that the peace of the border residents is the red line of the armed forces and no danger threatens the northwestern borders of the country.

Iran PressIran News: During his visit to the border areas of Jolfa and Khodaafarin in East Azerbaijan Province, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari added, "Increasing capabilities of the Armed Forces have made us very well prepared to carry out missions and protect the borders and honorable people of the country so that nothing threatens the northwestern borders."

He noted, "The red line of the Armed Forces is to ensure the security, peace, and comfort of the border residents and we do not tolerate endangering of this security." 

Heydari further emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of the countries in the region.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araghchi also said that Iran's initiative will pave way for peace between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Clashes between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region have resumed since September 27, killing several people.
