The Iranian ambassador to Beirut and the Lebanese foreign minister stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a meeting with Charbel Wehbe, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Beirut Mohammad Jalal Firouznia said: "The deep cultural, political and economic ties between the two countries are inseparable."

 Firooznia added that Iran has always stood by the Lebanese people and government, adding that resistance will always be a common and privileged aspect for the two countries.

"Beirut always welcomes the expansion of relations with Tehran in various fields," said Sharbal Wahba, referring to the good relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon.

The Iranian ambassador to Beirut and the foreign minister of the Lebanese government also discussed various issues, including the reconstruction of the areas affected by the bombing of the port of Beirut and the internal developments in Lebanon and the region.

On August 4, a devastating explosion destroyed the port area of ​​Beirut, killing more than 190 people and injuring 6,500.
