The North Korean military has unveiled a new intercontinental ballistic missile to mark its 75th anniversary.

Iran Press/Asia: The recently launched intercontinental ballistic missile is larger in volume than the Hwasung-15. The Hwasung-15, which also has the capability to reach the US soil, was previously tested in November 2017.

On this occasion, Kim Jong Un said at a parade marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of North Korea's ruling Labor Party on Saturday: "Pyongyang will strengthen its deterrence capability,"

During the launch of the new Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and other advanced military equipment, the North Korean leader stressed the need to continue to strengthen the " defensive deterrent capabilities".

The event has been widely covered by the media in South Korea, China, East and North Asia.

In the early hours of Saturday, Seoul announced that North Korea planned to unveil "new strategic weapons", including a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

The North Korean military parade was held on Saturday in Kim Il-sung Square in central Pyongyang to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Labor Party.
