Tehran (IP) - Iran's Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs referred to the significance of the intellectual and media cooperation between Iran and Russia in the campaign against plots orchestrated by the American media, saying that Iran is ready to expand media cooperation with Russia.

Iran PressIran News: The third meeting of the Iran-Russia Media Cooperation Committee, hosted by the Press Deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, was held in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the meeting was held in the form of a webinar and through online speeches given by a number of politicians and media managers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said at the meeting: "We came together in a situation where the world is changing and the coronavirus have affected various political and economic dimensions of the globe."

Saeed Khatibzadeh, referring to the holding of the meeting in a webinar format, stated: "This meeting today shows the change that coronavirus has made to all phenomena. In this changing world, the axis of the East is an important one in terms of politics and economy, and Tehran and Moscow have an important role at this axis."

He reminded of the conspiracies of the American media and the strategic relations between Tehran and Moscow and added: "Intellectual and media cooperation between Iran and Russia is important to counter the conspiracies of the American media."

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the fake news had affected the media atmosphere of the two countries, noting that in the field of public diplomacy, the image of the two countries is important for the elites and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to work with Russia to deepen cooperation.
