Kerman (IP): These days, pistachio harvest continues from pistachio orchards in Kerman province, southeastern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: Kerman province is the largest hub of pistachio production in Iran and its pistachio is unique in the world in terms of quality and taste.

The highest area under pistachio cultivation in Kerman province belongs to the cities of Rafsanjan, Sirjan, Shahrbabak, Kerman, Zarand, Anar, and Ravar.

About 200,000 tons of pistachios are harvested annually in Kerman province, 10% of which is consumed in the domestic market, and the remaining 90% is exported to world markets.

Iran is the second-largest producer of pistachios in the world and part of the non-oil exports of the Islamic Republic of Iran is dedicated to pistachio exports.
