Tehran (IP) - Judiciary Chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi strongly criticized the inertia of Western leaders in the face of insulting Muslim sanctities.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at a meeting with some senior clerics, he added: "The mere regret of the officials of Western countries and the pretenders of human rights against the insult to the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH) in some countries shows that their claim to support freedom of expression is a deception."

Raisi added freedom is the protection of science and knowledge and human rationality.

The Judiciary Chief said that the Prophet of Islam did a great favor to humanity and today's human civilization owes its learning and peaceful efforts and insulting the Prophet Muhammad who is a great person in the universe is an insult to humanity and all divine prophets and divine books and it is doomed to failure.

Raisi added: "To allow some thugs to insult the sanctities of other human beings is against freedom and is a clear example of the destruction of freedom, and it certainly causes the free people of the world to hate the perpetrators and supporters of this heinous and vicious movement which will not succeed in achieving its devious goals."

At the end of his speech, he called on all thinkers, jurists, and heads of states, especially the leaders of Islamic countries, to take a firm stance against the insult to the sanctities, and not to allow ignorant people to devastate freedom and narrow the field for the wise and free thinkers.

Charlie Hebdo magazine has republished insulting caricatures of Islam's Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a new impudence last week.
