Iran Press/ Iran News: In this stage 70 domestically produced and reconstructed railway fleets, including 9 locomotives, 2 passenger wagons and 59 freight wagons entered the country's railway network.
During the inauguration ceremony which was held on Monday, the Head of the Railway of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saeed Rasouli said that this 70 railway fleet with a value of 73 billion tomans, had 52% growth compared to last year.
"We try to use our local potentials and cut our dependency on foreign countries", he added.
Rasouli noted that 8 more wagons, which are equipped to “national brake system” will be put into operation next month.
Negotiations were held with knowledge-based companies to focus on self-sufficiency and stop relying on other countries, Rasouli noted.
A comprehensive system of supporting the production boom has been created along with the full list of domestic spare parts through which customers and producers can place their orders, he concluded.
