Iran ready to buy Iraqi barley, wheat

The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad announced Tehran's readiness to buy a surplus of Iraqi barley and wheat production.

Iran PressMiddle East: Ambassador of Iran to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi and Iraq's Minister of Finance Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi at a meeting on Friday at Baghdad reviewed an agreement reached during the recent visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi and his accompanying delegation to Tehran and stressed the follow-up and finalization of the agreements. 

Masjedi and Allawi also discussed the avoidance of double taxation, customs cooperation, and the agreement to encourage and support mutual investment, as well as Iraq's debts to Iran for gas and electricity sales.

Also, Masjedi delivered the invitation of the Minister of Economy and Finance of Iran Farhad Dejpsand to Allawi for his visit to Tehran.

Allawi also appreciated the invitation and announced his readiness to visit Tehran in the near future.
