Tehran (IP) - Iran's president said the Iranian nation will continue to progress despite the difficulties in its path created by its enemies.

Iran Press/Iran NewsHassan Rouhani made the remarks on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of several developmental projects in mining and industry, saying: "In these difficult conditions that the enemies have created for the country, the Iranian nation is well able to withstand both sanctions and the coronavirus."

"We stand against this pandemic, we resist and we succeed, and in the field of people's livelihood, although enemies have created many difficulties, they cannot bring people to their knees, and we will continue to produce," Hassan Rouhani noted.

"We are more successful in controlling coronavirus in these three provinces," the president continued.

In a speech broadcast via video conference, Rouhani further advised people to follow the health protocols and praised the medical staff, saying: "This is a difficult year and coronavirus has seriously damaged some jobs, but we have to create jobs in other areas to continue the path."

This year alone, 26 million tons will be added to Iran's annual steel production capacity, said the president.

Some of the industrial and mining projects in the different provinces of Iran including Mazandaran, Khuzestan and Fars provinces were inaugurated with Iran's President Hassan Rouhani in attendance via video conferencing.
